I was asked last year by one of Cape Town's leading English School's, to update its outdoor recreation area .
The large patio is a high traffic area where students congregate during breaks and for social events the school hosts.
As the area is relatively exposed to Cape Town's rather aggressive South Easter the old PU Wicker lounge suites were not ideal and had not stood the test of time.
Besides the furniture we also created a Green Wall and added a beautiful mural by the talented Nastasha Minyon Sale ( @nastashasale ).
We had fun with the Fabric selections on the Furniture to match the corporate colours of the client. Their pre-dominant brand colour is pink, which would have been a little over whelming for the upholstery so we opted instead for pink piping on black seating.
The single seater really came out beautifully and can be easily accessorised with some scatter cushions. Handmade in Cape Town!
The three seaters with pink piping, stained black Balau frames provide a chic feel to the outdoor space. Easy to accessorize with scatter and bolster cushions.
The L shape couch below, in situ in front of the lovely green wall we created to mask a rather dull concrete wall and provide a a true "outdoor lounge" feel.
In addition we custom built a bar counter and stool, with integrated power points to allow students to charge laptops and mobiles whilst catching up on work and social.
A really fun project which had to be completed whilst the area was still being used daily by the students, which whilst challenging also provided instant rewards as the students gave feedback as soon as installations and furniture arrived.
